T-Mobile wants you to take the #7NightStand Challenge

T-Mobile US has come up with some bold moves in past year or two, some of which have been copied by its larger competitors. T-Mobile US CEO John Legere is kicking off another initiative that will allow you to test drive its network and have access to "unlimited calls, texts, [and data]" for “free” for seven days with a borrowed Apple iPhone 5S.

We say “free” because T-Mobile will place a temporary hold of $699 plus taxes on your credit card until the iPhone 5S is safely back in its possession. And be forewarned, if the iPhone 5S is returned with “a cracked screen, damaged screen display, water damage, active Find My iPhone feature, or can't be powered,” you’ll be slapped with a $100 damage fee.

Those that partake in the promotion, which kicks off on June 23, are required to return the phone to a T-Mobile retail store after their seven days test drive is over. The phones will then be refurbished and sent to the next participant in the program.

T-Mobile is hoping that potential customers will be so enamored with its LTE speeds and network coverage that they will decide to ditch their current carrier and join “Team Magenta.”
