The baby brother to the Galaxy S5 will feature a 1.4GHz quad-core processor

Samsung is off to a fantastic start with its Galaxy S5 smartphone. The reviews for the phone have been favorable and sales are definitely strong. Last month, AT&T launched the “rugged” version of its flagship: the Galaxy S5 Active.
Now, we’re getting a good, clear look at the next variant that will soon be made available: the Galaxy S5 mini. SamMobile has secured high-resolution photograph of the downsized smartphone.

Specifications for the Galaxy S5 mini include:
  • Processor: 1.4GHz Exynos 3 Quad
  • GPU: Quad-core Mali-400 MP4
  • Display: 4.5”, 720p
  • Memory: 1.5GB
  • Storage: 16GB, microSD slot
  • Cameras: 8MP rear, 2.1MP front
  • Wireless: LTE, 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE
The Galaxy S5 mini is also said to include a fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor like its larger sibling, along with IP67 water and dust resistance. The smartphone is running Android KitKat 4.4.2 with TouchWiz UX layered on top.

We don’t have any information on pricing or availability at this time, but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we find out.
