Rockstar wants to hear from you on GTA5

Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto franchise is one of the most popular and profitable video game franchises on the planet. These games have drawn as much criticism from people claiming they celebrate violence as they have drawn fans of open world shooting and driving games. Rockstar is gearing up for the fifth game in the franchise, and is seeking your input.

Rockstar is asking fans to submit ideas for the next installment in the game series. While little is known about the game at this point, it will reportedly be set in a fictitious version of Southern California. It will also undoubtedly be packed full of the illicit drug deals, digital prostitutes, auto theft, and general mayhem that the franchise is known for.

"As we're busy working on Grand Theft Auto V, we'd like to take this opportunity to ask all of you for your feedback, input and ideas for features you'd like to see created for Crews in the game," read the notice.

"Whether it's suggestions for competitive in-game Crew features in Multiplayer, new ways to manage and recruit, ideas for enhancing Social Club Crew pages and leaderboards, things you did and didn't like about Crews in Max Payne 3, or any thoughts at all related to Crews really that you'd like to share — we're all ears," Rockstar told gamers. "We'd especially love to hear from current Crew members and leaders so that we can continue making our unique approach to persistent team based Multiplayer as fun as it can be in GTAV."

To me, that was the biggest problem with GTAIV. It was a major step back, IMO. We went from having three distinct cities, a forest, a desert, plains, hills, dunes, mountains to just one single city because they were limited by one DVD.

I'd say make the grandest game you can and if you have to sell it with multiple DVDs, DO IT. You can install games on the 360s HDD. DONT LIMIT YOURSELF TO ONE DVD.

I would personally like allot of the DRM stripped away.

For example in GTA IV you buy the game on Steam, download the game, install the game, then you have install Games for Windows Live, Register for Games for Windows Live!
Then when you finally get into the game you have to sign up for Rockstar pass.
Essentially after all the stuffing around you are finally allowed to play it, that is if you don't run into other technical issues that plagued the PC version.

That happened to me with the recent Batman game. Took me several hours just to start playing. Took me less time to figure out I didn't like the game.

For GTA I'd like to see (more) unique civilians/cops with unique movements, licensed (real) cars, and a camera that looks in the direction your looking *immediately*

I'd agree about the unique/ more varied people, movements and environments but licensed cars aren't a biggie considering how Rockstar gives vehicles somewhat funny names. Maybe Rockstar can add some elements of Sleeping Dogs into GTA V.

Also, allow more F***ing around, like grabbing on to ledges, not always falling off a moving train or vehicle, and TANKS!

Right, the 360 was responsible for that. It had nothing to do with the tens of millions of dollars needed to create triple the art assets for more cities, which would do next to nothing for more sales.

It doesn't matter how much space you give them. Rockstar will ship additional cities out in new versions or expansion disks or DLC. The people who really care about that stuff are the ones they want to milk for extra revenue.

We definitely need more sandbox space for GTA5. Being in a city the whole game, I really missed the grand scope of San Andreas. It wrecked most of the replay value of just heading out for some mayhem and exploration. If that requires dropping the graphics fidelity a bit than so be it - I'd prefer a fun pixellated game to a photo realistic boring game.

Which were absolutely boring, flat, uninteresting sections of the game that were there just for the bragging rights of how "big" the world is. Sorry, but for my gaming, I like actual things to do, not just an empty lifeless world to make me dream of what could have been.

But oh yeah, you got a jetpack so you could skip over all that boring drek without a problem.

Really? Racing with bikes off Mount Chiliad. Monster truck driving through the desert? Dogfighting over dams, military bases and through mountains?

The world is as interesting as you want it to be, and San Andreas was and is the greatest.

My question is, what are "Crews?"

I understand that they are just like in Max Payne, but I never played that either. Is it like a WoW guild or something? Is it a "party" of friends?

Considering that knowledge of what a Crew is seems to be central to the article, it would be nice to include a definition.

the top 3 cheats im really hoping for is

youguys wanted some great ideas, and here they are. THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKE!! If this game doesn't have these cheats me and alot of other people will be really disappointed and ceep up the great up the great development

How about a cheat for mobs that chase the player, whether on foot or in a vehicle? I think there was such a cheat in Vice City and that made messing around in the city much more interesting.

Who cares about crews?

Kill frenzies, real military wanted level, crazy items, a riot cheat code (with arming pedestrians for free-for-all simulation) and bring back the damn jet pack already!

If you play GTA to make "crews" and top leaderboards, you're doing it wrong.
