New Windows Phone 8 smartphones from Nokia
Nokia has unveiled a pair of new Windows Phone 8 smartphones at MWC 2013. The first of the new smartphones is the Lumia 520, which has a four-inch IPS touchscreen display (800x480).
The phone uses a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor operating at 1GHz, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The battery has 1430 mAh of power promising 9.6 hours of 3G talk time. The phone operates on GSM and WCDMA networks. Other features include integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, and a 3.5 mm audio connector.
The 520 measures 119.9 mm x 64 mm x 9.9 mm and weighs 124 grams.
The second the smartphone is the Lumia 720. This phone has a 4.3-inch IPS display with a resolution of 800 x 480. The phone measures 127.9 mm x 67.5 mm x 9 mm and weighs 128 g. Both Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi are integrated, and the phone has NFC technology. Other features include integrated GPS, a 6.7-megapixel rear camera, and a front camera.
The internal battery 2000 mAh battery promises up to 13.4 hours of 3G talk time. The Lumia 720 supports wireless charging with an accessory cover.
Like the Lumia 520, the Lumia 720 has a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor operating at 1GHz, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Nokia also says that the phone is fitted with enterprise security features making the device appropriate for corporate environments.
Pricing, carriers, and availability for the devices are unknown at this time.
