During CES, Michael Dell announced the possibility of a partnership with AMD, unveiled the XPS 600 Renegade gaming PC and several other pieces of hardware

Dell Chairman Michael Dell has said that it is "a distinct possibility" that Dell would consider using AMD processors in the future.  A partnership between Dell and AMD would be very beneficial to AMD, with Dell apparently shipping 10 million PCs in the fourth quarter last year.  During Dell's speech, he also unveiled the XPS 600 Renegade, a new system with NVIDIA quad SLI GPU system.  In addition, Dell also announced the Inspiron E1705 Dual-Core 17-inch Widescreen Entertainment Notebook, with an Intel Core Duo processor.

As AMD continues to distance itself from Intel in performance, I don't see how Dell can stay away from AMD for much longer. I think within a year we will start to see some Dell-AMD computers.
