Buffalo's travel router will retail for $59.99
Hotel Wi-Fi is something that we all seem to have taken for granted these days. Most hotels at least offer Wi-Fi to travelers, even if you have to pay daily for it.
However, there are times when you might find yourself in a hotel that doesn’t have Wi-Fi, or you simply don’t want to be handicapped by limited speeds often found with congested hotel wireless networks. If you are provided access to an Ethernet port for wired internet in your room, pocket wireless routers are a nifty solution.
Buffalo showed both white and black models, but only the black version is destined for U.S. consumers.
Buffalo today showed us an incredibly small device called the WMR-433 Travel Router. The pocket router is barely bigger than a box of matches and houses a single Ethernet port, a 2.4GHz/5GHz switch, and a micro USB port to power the device with an included cable (you can choose to power the WMR-433 with your laptop or via a wall outlet with an adapter).
The WMR-433 supports 802.11ac with up to 433 Mbps transfer speed on the 5GHz band (150 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band).
The Belkin WMR-433 will ship in Q2 with an MSRP of $59.99.
