Beginning with the Atari Commodore 64 my thirst for technology
and computers hasn’t been quenched since. In grade school the platform of
choice was the Apple platform and I remember long days playing the latest and
greatest of Word Muncher and The Oregon Trail. My first notable experience with
computer security took place in the 5th grade when I disabled the
sound on a teachers Macintosh after another student was playing a video game on
the computer that I wanted to play.
During middle school my tech craze continued as I spent as
much time as I could in the school computer labs and at home on my 286, 386 and
finally 486DX PC’s playing the memorable DOOM series and surfing the Web. In
1999 I was introduced to AnandTech by AnandTech writer Ryan Smith and have been
an active participant in the AnandTech Distributed Computing team since then
learning and reading about the advances in technology every chance I get.
Over the years I have run my own technology
site writing reviews. In March of 2006 I was brought on to the DailyTech
writing staff as a contributing writer. When not reading and writing about
technology I enjoy hiking and snowboarding when I can. I’m also in school
studying medicine, journalism and advanced networking.
