Steve Jobs gets some more love from California
Love him or hate him, Apple CEO Steve Jobs remains a very
important figure head in the tech and business worlds. In case you
didn't hear anything about the news, the iconic leader of Apple was recently
inducted alongside 12 other people into the California Hall of Fame earlier in
the week by Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger. During the event hosted
California Museum for History, Women and the Arts in Sacramento, guests were
treated to a warm welcome from journalists and other important people.
"What I find so remarkable about the California Hall of Fame at The
California Museum is that it's a place where you can truly celebrate
extraordinary individuals who come from all different walks of life and yet
they have one thing in common - they have all made an incredible mark on the
history of our state," First Lady Maria Shriver said before the
ceremony. "This exhibit showcases their amazing legacies and I hope
everyone will come to The California Museum and be inspired by our California
legends."
I don't necessarily agree it should be called a Hall of Fame per se, but I
believe First Lady Shriver's idea is a noble one that will continue even after
the Governator is out of office.
Other people in the Hall of Fame include Giants Hall of Fame baseball player
Willie Mays, winemaker Robert Mondavi, former Dodger baseball player Jackie
Robinson, Walt Disney, Amelia Earhart, President Ronald Reagan and Clint
Eastwood.
Jobs and Apple look forward to another holiday season in which the iPhone and
iPod MP3 players should continue to fly off the shelves. Even though the
company is being sued over voice mail and is accused of being a major
monopolizer of the mobile phone market, Jobs looks to ride this success
straight to Macworld Conference & Expo event in January.
