The front page of
EggXpert is the new official forum area for Newegg

Online retailer of computer hardware and accessories is putting its latest venture square in the hands of the PC enthusiast community. Earlier this month, Newegg quietly launched its own community site called with a forums section and blogs for its users.

Currently in an open beta stage, EggXpert describes itself as “an extensive and easy-to-use online tech community designed specifically for PC & consumer electronics enthusiasts like yourself.” Users can interact with each other via online forums, blogs and regular interactive events.

EggXpert likely realizes that a good portion of Newegg customers are PC do-it-yourself types, and have opened a forum dedicated to the DIY crowd and even overclockers. Appropriately, situated right below the overclockers’ area is a forum dedicated to helping with hardware troubles.

Unlike many other hardware enthusiast forums on the Internet, EggXpert does not have an area dedicated for its members to buy, sell and trade their computer goods. In place of a traditional marketplace section are forums where users can discuss and inform each other of hot deals, even if they aren’t products from

Since the site’s launch in early April, the forum has amassed over 5,500 members who have contributed to 2,444 threads and 3,674 posts.

While on the topic of Newegg and the way they sort items, it had some weird thing for a while where if you would select sort by "Best Rating" it would put items with 5 eggs up top, but with like 1 - a few reviews, as opposed to the most reviewed 5 egg item. I'm glad to say that it's back the old system (by rating then by number of reviews), but it was just kind of random that it would change out of nowhere.

P.S. I also agree with it not saving your sort preference as I like it to be by Best Rating (obvious by my post). I think anyone who cares should write Newegg so something gets done about this quicker.
