Tune into DVB-S, DVB-T, analog cable and FM radio on a single card
Hauppauge has released a new addition to its WinTV product lineup:
. The new WinTV-HVR-3000 can tune into three different video sources.
The new tri-mode TV tuner can decode DVB-S satellite, DVB-T terrestrial and regular analogue cable sources. The new tuner also supports FM, DVB-S and DVB-T audio broadcasts.
In terms of recording the WinTV-HVR-3000 can store audio and video in MPEG2 or MPEG1 formats. Hauppauge bundles its own WinTV application with WinTV-Scheduler for automated recording features. Automated recording features are also backed by a 7-day electronic program guide too. An IR remote is also included for use with the Hauppauge WinTV software as well.
Expect the WinTV-HVR-3000 to be available for European consumers very soon.

I wonder if they finally updated their software. Its really aging and it shows.
Hauppauge's software has always been a piece of crap, IMHO. An afterthought. In fact, the only reason I bought a PVR250 was for Snapstream's Beyond TV, and most other people used there's for other third-party recording software which was much more superior (Beyond TV, Myth, Sage, hell - even the Media Center software in Windows MCE)!
A digital TV tuner card - especially PCI - is worthless to me. Why not an HDTV tuner? And why not PCIe???
Hauppauge only irritate me at this point...

If you think Hauppauge is bad, then you better stay away from ATI/AMD tuners with a 100km pole.
The last ATI TV tuner I got lasted me for perhaps 10 years. I did not count the length I had the card for but I do know that it was rock solid. I figure I'd give their HDTV tuner a try, seeing that there's always the off-chance that I may get some OTA HDTV signals. I installed the softwares and tried to be as minimalistic as I can. Analog tuning worked until suddenly it borked out. It wasn't a hardware failure but a software issue. I called up ATI's techie hoping that I'd get some advice on how to deal with the problem. He claims something is using my overlay, which I call BS. I've ran MPC, WMP, DScaler, and various other applications that is likely to use an overlay for video. Everything ran perfectly fine... except ATI's software.
I got fed up with the dumbass support guy at ATI and returned it. My alternative? The Hauppauge PVR-150. Installed, fired it up, scanned the channels... and played with it. No issue. No hiccup. No problem. Drivers installed and updated to the latest. Apps installed and updated to the latest. No problem with overlay. Nothing at all. I never had to reformat or do anything drastic. It just ran.

So how do you know you did not simply in your efforts omitted a vital piece of software?
Besides, just because one person has an issue does not mean a product it flawed, we'd have to see a number of similar complaints.
