“Our line-up of PS3 games that will be available through the holidays is unprecedented in terms of volume, variety and innovation, surpassing any previous competitive launch catalog and even our own original offerings for other PlayStation platforms,” said Kaz Hirai, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America.  “We are pioneering a new era of true next-generation gaming through such titles as Resistance: Fall of Man, a visually arresting game that takes advantage of the large storage capacity and exceptional visual clarity offered by Blu-ray Disc; and NBA 07, running at full 1080p for the highest resolution image possible, creating hyper-realistic characters and gameplay never seen before.”

As if simply being able find a PlayStation 3 at launch wasn't incentive enough, Sony announced that packed-in with the first half million PS3 systems shipped in North America will be Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, starring Will Farrell. This puts a copy of the movie into PlayStation 3-owners hands almost a month before the Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby stand-alone street date of December 12, 2006

Finally, SCEA also announced today the roster of peripherals that will accompany the arrival of PS3. The peripherals that will be available on launch day include the SIXAXIS Controller, available for $49.99, a Memory Card Adaptor for transferring game save information from PlayStation and PlayStation2 Memory Cards onto the HDD of PS3 for $14.99, and coming soon, a BD Remote Control for $24.99 (see peripheral photos here).

1. I don't need to "save my console from heat" since it's not an issue for me. Scour the harder-edged Xbox sites, you'll see that the 360's failures are often not heat-related... plus I just keep it cool by method of location. Far be it from me to argue with your perception of how valuable you find the $20 air-cooler device, but it is simply not necessary.

2. My friends can play NG on wireless as well, but they suck at it. I play it somewhat religiously and have beaten it several times on very hard as well as the hurricane packs. I can't say this with authority, but I'm willing to bet I've logged way more hours in NG than you. Seriously, I almost lost my job over it! LOL Anyway, my wireless controller AND the one I exchanged it for both failed to pull off the more advanced combo strings which the wired controller had no issues with. I tested it on my friend's 360 as well with the same result, so until the day I can test out your magical controller, I'll stick by my statement.

3. I would still argue against the inclusion of the HD-DVD drive as it is not a required device for playing games. Last I checked, these are primarily videogame consoles. I have already paid in full for my HD-DVD drive at GameStop, so I'm not against getting it at all, but it is not required and is indeed an "add-on".

4. Obviously, you lack some form of reading comprehension. I'll break it down for you some more so you can understand better. Out of all the PS3 launch titles, some games have been out for Xbox360 long enough and possibly have the sales volume to warrant inclusion into the Platinum Hits catalogue: Blazing Angels, Fight Night 3, Oblivion, etc. Some of the others may also be cheaper (by $10-$20) by the time PS3 hits, so my point was that: for the same game, it may cost less or considerably less to buy it for Xbox360. Does that make sense or is that still a smart-ass comment?

5. We do have tax in this country, but it varies by state or even by county and city, and some states (mine) don't charge tax for Internet purchases. In addition, the pre-tax price is all that matters since the comparison between console pricing would not change assuming the same tax rate was applied.

6. Chicks also "dig" spending $1,500 on purses. I've gotten by just fine for many years on my charm and good looks. If push comes to shove, I can impress them with my wired higher bandwidth and lower latencies.

7. As for name-calling, I wasn't calling you, personally, an idiot. It was a general "you" applied to people that buy aftermarket coolers. I'm sorry you fall into that category. No offense intended, I offer my apology.

With you on number 6 man. Few women actually worth looking at are impressed that you have a wireless controller for your video games console. Some might think its nice but most won't give a damn.

If you rely on something like that to impress a lady, you probably won't even get far enough to have a woman in your house/apartment to show her it anyway. And you might be something like this guy.

1) Intercooler is there just to be there, I'd rather be on the safe side. Its 20 bucks dude, seriously, whats the downside here.

2) No wonder your controller died!

3) To each his own.

4) I see your point now, but still its a bit unfair to base the 360 games with PS3 games due to the fact that 360 had a year head start.

5) What state is this, cuz I wanna move there!

6) Complete joke

7) I'm sensitive! And aftermarket coolers are only idiot to buy if it costs more than 20 bucks. Seriously, its 20 bucks. I dont want your 360 to die, its like insurance (incase shit happens).
