“Our line-up of PS3 games that will be available through the holidays is unprecedented in terms of volume, variety and innovation, surpassing any previous competitive launch catalog and even our own original offerings for other PlayStation platforms,” said Kaz Hirai, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America.  “We are pioneering a new era of true next-generation gaming through such titles as Resistance: Fall of Man, a visually arresting game that takes advantage of the large storage capacity and exceptional visual clarity offered by Blu-ray Disc; and NBA 07, running at full 1080p for the highest resolution image possible, creating hyper-realistic characters and gameplay never seen before.”

As if simply being able find a PlayStation 3 at launch wasn't incentive enough, Sony announced that packed-in with the first half million PS3 systems shipped in North America will be Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, starring Will Farrell. This puts a copy of the movie into PlayStation 3-owners hands almost a month before the Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby stand-alone street date of December 12, 2006

Finally, SCEA also announced today the roster of peripherals that will accompany the arrival of PS3. The peripherals that will be available on launch day include the SIXAXIS Controller, available for $49.99, a Memory Card Adaptor for transferring game save information from PlayStation and PlayStation2 Memory Cards onto the HDD of PS3 for $14.99, and coming soon, a BD Remote Control for $24.99 (see peripheral photos here).

It seems someone has never attempted to read text on a standard 354x240 TV screen ~_~.

354x240? What "standard" tv is that? Last I checked, the SDTV standards were PAL and NTSC, which are 833x625x25 Hz and 700x525x30 Hz respectively.

X360 didn't either.. Oh wait, they still don't *rolls eyes*. Any of their games that has a chance to be a "killer app" is cross-console/platform with ps3/pc anyways.

Ohh I do .. I do!

Oblivion! Won't that look as good as a PC! I am sure it will have all the functionality too!

It looks better on PC, you just need a shitload of money to get a decent one. And the killer-app is of course Resistance: Fall of Man (and MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, GTHD, Grand Theft Auto: London, etc) Though DOA4 didn't come out at launch for the 360, it was pretty much the game that saved the system.
