If Intel's new SRAM built on the 45nm process just isn't small enough, researchers from Columbia University have managed to build a transistor with individual molecules and nanotubes

EETimes is reporting that Columbia University's Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center managed to pair nanotubes with organic molecules to create a transistor.  So far, the only application for the new transistor seems to be for a Ph sensor, but the relatively new NSEC has several other open projects particularly geared for nanotube electromechanics.

Agreed... we're talking about the ability to shrink transistors to fractions of their sizes. About integrating a full powered CPU into a device the size of a cell phone (albeit a long time from now) and this guy is talking about tracking sex offenders?
