LG partners with Apple, Google and Microsoft for flexible OLED displays

LG appears to be making changes by stepping into the foldable display technology. According to a report from ET news, the South Korean Company has partnered along with, tech giants, like Apple, Google and Microsoft to develop flexible display panels.

Of course, the report did not disclose the time of product release but does reveal that mass-production may start sometime in the 2018.
Samsung’s display is one of the major sources for upcoming Apple iPhone handset. According to Bloomberg website.
Apple will be using an OLED panel in its upcoming iPhone handsets that recently confirmed by Sharp’s president Tai Jeng-Wn.
IBM collaborates with Siemens to bring Watson Analytics to MindSphere
The Germany –base electronics company Siemens and IBM has jointly integrated IBM Watson Analytics and other tools into MindSphere – the cloud –based Siemens operating system for the Internet of Things (IoT). Since Internet is become more widely available, the cost of connecting is decreasing, more devices are being created with Wi-Fi capabilities and sensors built into the device. The smartphone market skyrocketing, the improvement in technology brings the Internet cost down

IoT is the concept of basically connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet (and or to each other). This includes everything from cellphones, washing machines, headphones, lamps, wearable devices and almost anything else you can think of. The analyst firm Gartner says that by year 2020 there will be over 26 billion connected devices, which is lot of connections. Where some even estimates this number to be much higher and may reach over 100 billion. The IoT is a giant network of connected “things” which includes people too. 

Google Maps Now Shows Wheelchair Accessible Places
The new feature claimed to be based on user’s inputs coming from the Local Guide services.  Since the information is provided by third party, (users given collected information from places they have visited).  While wheelchair accessibility functionality is based on user feedback, not all the places with accessibility are shown.
