Samsung Electronics likely to procure phone batteries from LG Chem: Chosun Ilbo.
After the failure of Galaxy Note 7, the Samsung Electronics Co Ltd is in talks with LG Chem Ltd to make it one of its smartphone battery suppliers, the Chosun Ilbo newpaper reported.
Samsung Electronics, the world’s top Smartphone maker’s Galaxy Note battery suppleir at the present time is group firm Samsung SDI and China’s Amperex Technology.
According to a report, there is more than a 90% chance that a deal is being struck and Samsung Electronics may begin to obtain LG Chem batteries from the second half of 2017.
Oil prices rise in anticipation of tighter 2017 market

Oil prices rose on Monday in anticipation of tihter crude supply going into 2017 following the decision by OPEC and other producers to cut output to prop up prices.
Brent crude futures LCOc1, the international benchmark for oil prices, were trading at $55.57 per barrel at 0401 GMT , up 36 cents, or 0.7 percent,fromtheir last close.
U.S. West Texas intermediate crude oil futures were up 43 cents, or 0.8% at $52.33 a barrel.
“Saudi Arabia hs stated its willingness to cut production below 10 million BPD if needed (down from around 10.5 millionbarrel per day) which should likit risk to deal,” U.S. bank Morgan Stanley said.
