It will be available starting in July

T-Mobile and its sub-brand MetroPCS will carry the budget-friendly Nokia Lumia 635 starting next month.

According to T-Mobile, the Windows Phone 8.1-powered gadget will be 4G LTE-ready and available for under $170 USD without a contract.

To break it down a bit further, T-Mobile customers can grab the Nokia Lumia 635 for $0 down and for $7 a month for 24 months (total of $168). MetroPCS customers, on the other hand, can buy the phone for a promotional deal of $99. It's currently unclear how long that promotion will last.

The Nokia Lumia 635 sports a 4.5-inch display, Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a 5-megapixel camera, the Cortana personal assistant and a variety of colors to choose from.

The 635 will be available on T-Mobile's site starting July 9, but if you'd prefer to pick it up in-store, you'll have to wait until July 16.
As for MetroPCS customers, the 635 will be released in stores and online starting July 18.

The 635 was originally announced at Microsoft's BUILD conference back in April. It's the first of the Windows Phone 8.1 devices announced at BUILD to be available in the U.S.

The difference between you and me in 2011 is that I was dissatisfied with Android. You defended it in every post and now you're saying it was crap.

I call that backing down

And re: your ideal OS, iOS has the smoothness of WP and a better task switcher than WebOS. I should know since I was one of the few who owned both.

Android has a great notification system, otherwise iOS isn't missing much from that side. What it is missing is being addressed in iOS 8, specifically keyboards and more ways for apps to talk to each other via extensions.

That's getting awfully close to "ideal" in that list. The fruit shaped logo seems to be the main downside for the zealots here.

Is it really that hard for you to grasp the passage of time? Things improve and old software is obsoleted. Do you know what else sucks by today's standards? Doom, quake, and pretty much every video game I grew up with. My old 1978 Camaro z28, WinXP, etc etc.

I can't tell if you're really being dense or just trolling me. Either way you're rediculous.

and to your other post, No sorry, Apple obviously tried to get what whether it had in the task switching UI, but no cigar.and like I told you my iPad 4 legs and I see lots of stories of other people with newer iPhones and iPads and lag issues as well. Sorry that argument just doesn't work for IOS.

Also, note I am here speaking openly about the benefits of all platforms as I mentioned all 4 in my ideal phone, and along you came and essentially inflated iOS and deflated Android in your typical troll fashion. / too easy.

What you said was amazing a few years ago is suddenly bad, even though it really hasn't improved much at all.

Re: deflating Android, it just doesn't bring much to the table in terms of useful features compared to WP or iOS. A solid OS and good apps are what I'll take over superficial features made to full up lists for people like you that are easily fooled by marketing.

" it really hasn't improved much at all"

Your asserting that Android hasn't changed much since Gingerbread?

OK, lets just stop the laugh train now. That is beyond ridiculous.

"A solid OS and good apps are what I'll take over superficial features made to full up lists"

Really? They made all those features just to fill out my list? Wow. Great argument. You are really pushing the boundaries of the debate. Were you pre-law in school? Your skills are just, too much to handle. Meanwhile Apple is copying those features left and right these days trying to catch up. LOL. Doof.

"Also, Doom and Quake are still AMAZING, better than most shooters even today."

OK, NOW It makes sense. You seem to cling on to old software and never let go. Now your unnatural attachment to IOS is making sense. Hey that is cool, you stop trolling and go play your Doom, and use your IOS and and enjoy it.
