Android Wear devices are incoming, with prices as low as $199

Google is betting big on Android Wear-powered devices, and the first two smartwatches to uses the scaled-down mobile operating system are now available for pre-orders.

First up is the LG G Watch, which was first announced alongside Android Wear. The rather plain-looking smartwatch features an always-on 1.65” (280x280) IPS LCD, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and Bluetooth 4.0 LE. The G Watch charges via USB (with a pogo pin connection).

 LG G Watch

The smartwatch measures 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95 mm and weighs in at 63 grams. The G Watch supports IP67 water/dust resistance, is capable of making it through a single day with its 400 mAh battery, and is compatible with all devices running Android 4.3 and above.

The G Watch is available for pre-order in black, or white/gold for $229. It will ship by July 3.

The Samsung Gear Live is a more stylish device, and makes a better case than the G Watch, at least based on specs. It features a higher resolution, 1.63” (320x320) SuperAMOLED, unnamed 1.2GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, a heart rate monitor, and a 300 mAh battery.

 Samsung Gear Live

The Gear Live measures 37.9 x 56.4 x 8.9 mm and weighs 59 grams; it also supports IP67 water/dust resistance.

The Gear Live is priced at $199 and will ship by July 8.

Pretty sure Samsung is. Meh. Not my point anyhow. MY point was its OEM's trying to hype up a new market more than customers actually asking for it.
