Motorola introduces a 64GB variant of the Moto X
Motorola really wants people to see that its
flagship Moto X smartphone
is worth your time and attention. While the device won’t win any spec wars, its $349/$399 (16GB/32GB) price off-contract should be enough to entice those looking for a good bargain.
Since the Moto X doesn’t come with a microSD slot, those requiring even more space have been left to look for other options; that is until now. Over the weekend, Motorola added a new 64GB model to the Moto X family with a price tag of $449.
For comparison, an off-contract 16GB Samsung Galaxy S5 will cost you
on AT&T, while the off-contract 32GB HTC One (M8) costs
The off-contract Moto X is available for use on a number of U.S. carriers including AT&T, Republic Wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon Wireless.
It was recently reported that Motorola will
close its Moto X facility later this year due to poor sales
. The facility at one time had 3,800 workers, but now just makes do with 700. Motorola’s new owner,
, will move production of the Moto X (and future Motorola smartphones) to China and other countries with low-cost labor.

Awful phone but...

Attractive off contract pricing. Hope we see more phones come down from the $600-$700 range they have been at for ages.

I've owned a lot of phones...flip phones, windows mobile (5, 6) phones, a blackberry or 2. Samsung Galaxy phones (including the Galaxy S II and Galaxy S III)...the Moto X is by far the best phone I've ever owned...quite simply due to the fact it's bloat free. The Moto apps actually do feel like a bonus and you can use republic wireless ($25/mo unlimited talk, text, web) with it. I purchased 2 of the 16 gb ones for $299...paid for my ETF through verizon in just a few months.
