Beware the bezel, but otherwise minimalist design pleases

Back in March 2014, Hewlett-Packard Comp. (HPQ) carried out a stealthy launch of a tablet packing Google Inc.'s (GOOG) Android OS.  Very much a budget offering, the $170 USD tablet featured a bare bones spec, but some nice features like microSD expandable storage.

HP remains a low volume seller in the tablet market, but the veteran firm -- a top seller in the traditional PC market -- is looking to gain ground.  Probably the best thing about the tablet was its attractive, minimalist looks.

Twitter leaker @evleaks has posted some new press shots from HP.  It appears HP is finally stepping up marketing of the new design. What do you think?

"There's no obvious reason a company like HP (with higher expenses) can compete well at the commodity level, in a race to the cheapest crappy tablet possible. IMHO they'd do better to aim higher and try to establish HP as a trusted brand in this space"

That is a good concept. The problem is that HP cant do anything right anymore. If they went "high end" they would botch that too. At least botching the low end will lose them less money (I assume). LOL.
