The information leaks continue when it comes to the iPhone 6

Apple definitely isn’t the only game in town when it comes to smartphones, but the fervor surrounding each upcoming iPhone release definitely eclipses smartphone launches from other manufacturers. In keeping with that tradition, physical 3D models of the device compared to the current flagship iPhone 5s along with supposed schematics of the upcoming iPhone 6 have been leaked to the internet.

The physical mockups of the iPhone 6 show a device that is thinner, wider and taller than the iPhone 5s – the mockup measure in at 5.43” long, 2.63” wide, and 0.27” thick. Whereas the iPhone 5s has more hardened edges, the iPhone 6 has “softer” curves reminiscent of the original iPhone.

The latest mockup also clearly shows the repositioning of the lock button from the top of the device to the right hand side. Given the iPhone 6 is quite a it taller than the iPhone 5s, the new button placement will allow users to more easily power on/off the device one-handed.

One thing to note, however, is that the mockup doesn’t appear to show provisions for the dual-LED camera flash as seen on the iPhone 5s.

Also leaked over the weekend from Feng.com were 3D design schematics for the iPhone 6. The schematics match up nicely with the physical mockups, so either this is very close to the final design for the iPhone 6 or someone really has a lot of time on their hands to fake all of this leaked information.

The iPhone 6 is said to feature a 4.7” display (with a much higher resolution than the existing 1136x640 iPhone 5s), A8 processor, 802.11ac wireless, and hopefully LTE-A support.

RE: 4.7" Display? Really?

Personally, I prefer smaller phones (~4.5") because of the way I hold and use my phone with one hand. For me it has nothing to do with the size of fitting it in my pocket. I have tried several 5.5 and 6" devices and they're not my thing.

That said, I don't see why there seems to be this cult around large display phones being the best and how everyone who likes smaller phones is just dumb or inexperienced or something. What is so bad about a 4.5 or 4.7" display on the iPhone? Clearly there are still enough people out there making it wildly successful that either don't care or like the size.

I think we're just tired of every new phone announcement being accompanied by the token "OMG TOO BIGZORZ" by the Apple fanbase.

It's obvious that some of you, not all, have been so indoctrinated by Apple's rigid 'one size fits all' mantra, that you seem almost incapable of embracing just how much choice is out there outside your walled garden.

This bias seems to have gotten to the point that any advanced NOT brought forth by Apple are instantly shunned, called gimmicks, or dismissed altogether.

I was pretty shocked at some of the responses on the LG G3 QHD discussion last week. It made our entire community look like a bunch of technically illiterate Luddites. This is what Apple does to people!

You just know that if Apple came out with QHD displays first, these same people would be falling all over themselves in glee and anticipation.

But instead we get caveman logic of "Big phones + QHD = stoopid!". And why? Because Apple didn't do it first...

Here we are with the same double standard. Big phones are stupid, until Apple releases their own, then they're great. Proving that their problem never was big phones, it was just an excuse to bash OEM's that compete with Apple.

or we can stop judging people and just let them buy what they want...

"or we can stop judging people and just let them buy what they want..."

That is exactly what he is saying... You are putting an "or" in but agreeing. He is referring to the multitude of people here at this site that crap all over any large screen or high res phone that comes out. If you dont want it dont buy it, but let the market give us options. not everyone wants the same thing.

As far as the above. I think its a great idea for Apple to offer all 3, a 4, a 4.7 and a 5.5 inch iPhone. That is just smart business.

Gauranteed, when Apple finally releases a 5.5 inch phone with res matching what the competition is offering (and the 5.5 IS coming) it will be perfect. Perfect size and perfect res to all the Apple yahoo's smacking down larger screens and higher res today.
