Just a month after launch, Microsoft is adding some much-needed functionality to Office for iPad

Just over a month ago, Microsoft officially launched its Office suite of apps for the iPad. Microsoft made the Office for iPad available for free, giving users the ability to open and display documents created in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. However, for those that actually need to edit documents, Microsoft requires an Office 365 subscription that can be obtained for $6.99/month.

While the reviews for Office for iPad have been overwhelmingly positive, there is always room for improvement and Microsoft is addressing a few of those issues today. The #1 requested feature was one that sounds rather mundane: printing support. Microsoft has answered the numerous calls from users by providing basic AirPrint support for compatible printers.

Another new feature, which is pertinent to PowerPoint, is SmartGuides. SmartGuides allow you to properly align pictures and text within your presentations. In addition, Excel has picked up AutoFit functionality that allows you to easily modify the width and height of multiples rows/columns.

This latest update also brings a bevy of performance updates, stability improvements, and bugfixes.
