Shazam integration expected with iOS 8

A report has surfaced that Apple is set to add a new song discovery feature in a future update for iOS. Sources that claim to be familiar with Apple's plans say that Shazam will power the song-discovery feature.

The microphone of an iPhone or iPad would be used to capture audio of the song and then the audio would be compared to the song database of the program.

Song discovery would be baked directly into iOS and will be available through Siri. The user being able to hit the Home button and ask what song is playing.

Another report indicates that Apple is looking at making iTunes Radio a standalone app rather than a feature inside the iTunes store. However, the source says that the final decision on that move hasn't been made.

Shazam currently has over 420 million users worldwide that use its services.

Not saying WP is better, just that this particular feature was baked in a LONG time ago.

Screw it - WP is better. I hate my company iPhone 5. It's crap compared to my WP.

Why do you have a WP if you have a company phone? I know several people who do that (even in my own company) and never understood why. I have a free phone - way waste money on paying for a phone plan?

Generally the phone is not your property, and neither is any of the information on it, especially if it's integrated with company data and has their group policies enforced.

If you think about it, I'm sure you could come up with a ton of reasons why people would do this.

Siri is complete crap. I can't believe they're worried about music search when Siri cannot even handle a simple web search half the time.

Going from Google Now to Siri is like shoving hot coals into my eyes.
