T-Mo backtracks in the face of customer complaints

Late last month, T-Mobile angered many subscribers who were on Advantage monthly discount programs through their employers. Not only did T-Mobile announce that it would be discontinuing the discount plan -- save government workers and military personnel -- it also said that it would not “grandfather” subscribers who were currently taking advantage of the program.
As you can imagine, that made a lot of people very upset. T-Mobile CEO John Legere has now stepped up and backtracked. Legere wrote that he has been listening to subscribers and is going to allow current customers to keep their discounts.
The discounts will be available for people who enrolled before April 1 as long as they are working at a participating company and remain on a qualifying plan.
To ensure that the person is still at an employer, T-Mobile will ask subscribers getting these discounts to complete a "simple annual online employer verification."

This news makes me happy!! I was about to pay an additional $144.00 a year on my family plan if they cancelled my corporate discount. That's two night outs, or half a plane ticket to see my parents, or a visit to the vet for my two dogs... These little bits add up.

Between the $10 increase on my unlimited plan and this, I'm moving back to Verizon for the increased coverage and the fact that while paying a bit more, I never had to think about it. Thanks for the last 6 months of adequate service, but you're the same cost as my family shared plan on Verizon was now.
