"Titanfall" represents over 10 million of those minutes

Microsoft's Xbox One console and live streaming video platform Twitch have proved to be a good couple with 23 million minutes of gameplay videos in just one week.

According to Xbox Wire, over 108,000 Twitch members used Xbox One to stream video to the Internet in the first week after app update went live on March 10. This accounted for 22 percent of Twitch’s unique broadcasters in the same period of time. 

On the first day of availability, the Xbox One represented 30 percent of all streaming channels on Twitch. This includes more than 2.7 million minutes broadcast from Xbox One March 10-11, which is the most ever for a Twitch console app in its first day. 

Microsoft added that the average Twitch broadcast on Xbox One is 28 minutes -- nearly as long as the average American TV sitcom.

“We have always considered enabling live streaming directly from consoles to be a key step in unlocking the ability for all gamers to share their experiences,” said Emmett Shear, Founder and CEO of Twitch.

“Yet we never imagined the popularity would spread as fast as it has. Microsoft has really helped drive this expansion, and the great system architecture of Xbox One has allowed us to build a really great broadcasting experience with a robust feature set. We’re all very excited about working with Microsoft to continue rolling out new features on the platform.”

The Xbox One's most popular game to broadcast so far is sci-fi shooter "Titanfall," which represented more than 10 million of the 23 million minutes of video streamed from Xbox Ones globally.

I quit left 4 dead in agony after i realised i survived zombies longer with bots then with teammates. I hate it when i'm forced to work together with people that don't know how to work together. It's only fun when your definition of "fun" doesn't include competitiveness.

Comparing Titalfall to UT2K4 is blasphemy as far as i'm concirned too. UT2K4 had far more gameplay modes, content and replayability. Not to mention being a proper arena shooter without the need for either AI, mechs or teammates. Or a auto aiming pistol that causes the balance of just about all other weapons to be messed up. Which are mostly hit-scan, anyway.

As far as i'm concirned the only good FPS released in the past decade since UT2K4 was Shadow warrior. Real shame that wasn't multiplayer, though single player was fun enough. Good gameplay, good balance, good story. Still... it's only a shadow (pun intended) of the arena shooters of old.

Not every shooter has to be an arena shooter. While UT2K$ was fun, I'd hate for every shooter to come after to be a clone.
