Microsoft officially launches its 64GB, LTE Surface 2
We reported last week that Microsoft had plans to introduce an LTE version of its
underdog Surface 2 tablet
. Today, Microsoft confirmed those plans, and officially announced the 64GB tablet that is currently tied to AT&T’s LTE network.
According to Panos Panay, Corporate VP for Microsoft Surface, LTE connectivity has been a much-requested addition to the Surface 2. “Many of you have told me that you’d like the capability to be online, even when Wi-Fi isn’t available, so you can work, play, share, and communicate wherever you are,” said Panos in a blog post.
“In simple terms, we are CONTINUOUSLY being asked for a Surface that allows you to use mobile broadband.”
As previously reported, the LTE version of the Surface 2 commands a $130 price premium over its W-Fi-only sibling, making for a price tag of $679.
Microsoft says that its latest tablet will be available starting March 18 from Best Buy/
and Microsoft Retail Stores/

I rarely use the desktop on my V8 Pro either. Only a couple car applications I use for data-logging require the desktop. If I do need the desktop, I use the mirracast. I havent had issues like so many people say they do. Lucky on that front I guess.
The thing is Baytrail has crushed tablet prices. $200 for full Windows or pay more for RT? umm Ill go with full.
What you said about the browser is one of the few bennies of RT. Like it's desktop brethren pages load normal unlike android. Still that wont save RT.
Either RT or WP9 are going to push the other out. I think RT will go away and WP9 will take over.
