They're $1.99 and $9.99 per month respectively

Google is heating up the online storage competition by slashing some of its Google Drive prices.

According to Google's official blog, the company is cutting the price of its monthly 100GB plan from $4.99 to $1.99, and is majorly slashing the price of its 1TB plan from $49.99 to only $9.99 per month.

The 15GB plan remains free, while 10TB is $99.99 per month, 20TB is $199.99 per month and 30TB is $299.99 monthly.

These are some great deals, considering Google Drive competitor Dropbox charges $9.99 per month for 100GB.

"Having launched Google Drive just two years ago, we’re excited that so many people are now using it as their go-to place for keeping all their files," said  Scott Johnston, Director of Product Management at Google. "Today, thanks to a number of recent infrastructure improvements, we’re able to make it more affordable for you to keep everything safe and easy to reach on any device, from anywhere."

So now in order to make your OP look less myopic and idiotic, you need to make the case that cloud services aren't 100% reliable? A point, by the way, I never even made.

News flash Mitch, NOTHING is. Not a server, not your USB drive, and not even your favorite Football player.

Jesus man, you honestly can't see ANY advantages in cloud services or why people use them?

And you work in IT!!??

That's like the Pope asking "why do people pray to God?".

Many cloud services lost data. Not google.

I can tell you my employer switched to google last year. We have not lost any data so far. Not only is it faster, more convenient and simpler, it is extremely reliable.

As a personal cloud and productivity/email suite, $2/Mo is very cheap for 100GB and probably the most reliable cloud service around.

Oh I'm sure Mitch will find a link where someone somewhere lost data on Google Drive, and say you're wrong.

I've been using Google Drive for years. In my experience it beats juggling three USB drives around or whatever.
