Specs for the tablet aren't impressive at all, but it's to be expected given its sub-$200 price point

The tablet market is pretty crowded these days with numerous companies duking out for a piece of the action. While Android-based tablets have been taking up the lion’s share of the market, HP has yet to launch any true "breakthrough" products in the sector.

And given today’s “stealth” launch of the new HP 8 1401, which was noticed by Phone Arena, it appears that HP still isn’t ready to put much effort into the category. The tablet is equipped with a quad-core Allwinner A31 ARM processor paired with a scant 1GB of RAM. The tablet comes with 16GB of internal storage, although it can be expanded thanks to its microSD slot (up to 32GB).

The budget-minded specs continue with a 1024x768 7.85” display, 2MP rear camera, and a low-resolution 0.3MP front-facing camera. Battery life is listed at just 7 hours thanks to its 3800 mAh battery.

And don’t expect to see an updated version of Android shipping with the HP 8 1401; it’s running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean while the latest version shipping is 4.4 KitKat.

Not all is lost, however, when it comes to the HP 8 1401. HP does give you 25GB of cloud storage for the life of the device. And when it comes to pricing, HP is offering up its latest tablet for just $169.99 in the U.S.

It wasnt a "victory"... Too easy that is all. It wasnt anything I did. It was your self defeating logic and poorly thought through arguments along with lack of attention to detail.

Mitch101: "Android has blue and Black screens of death, Windows Phone doesnt"

Retrospooty: (shows you links that it not only has both, but both are quite widespread ).

Mitch101: "All those Windows Phone blue and black screens are on Samsung devices"

Retrospooty: (points out that is it mostly Nokia and secondly HTC having Blue and Black SOD on Windows Phone.

Week dood. Are you not even trying, or are you really that dim, or is it that you just cant admit that your arguments have no merit?

LOL now your re-wording some of my comments or taking them out of context now. I like how you tacked on "Windows Phone doesnt" at the end of the comments. Your the one serving up the week sauce.

Technically Ive never seen or heard of one until today gods honest truth its just like I recall people saying the original X-Box had a blue screen in walmart but damn if all the years and games I played on it never saw a blue screen. Looking even deeper I can see a couple are really bad photoshop as well. Not sure what search engine your using for images but the majority of mine are Samsung.

I thought you Won? You said you did. Why its important to you on a blog/forum is actually pathetic.

Like I said if all is well in Android enjoy it but if you have an Android and its effing up maybe its time to look at something else. Try Apple, Try Windows Phone its all good just find something that works for you.
