Update gets players ready for Titanfall and more

If you are an Xbox One gamer, the March update for the game console has started to roll out today. The new brings changes for multiplayer features just for the hotly anticipated game Titanfall, which will launch on March 11.
Some of the major changes the March update brings include a friends list on the homepage of the Friends app. Party chat is now on by default and you can now chat with friends playing different games. The “Invite friends to game” option is now accessible in multiplayer tiles.
The update also adds a list of recent people you have played with to make it easy to stay in touch with them. The big new feature is support for Twitch Live streaming. This will work when the new Twitch app launches on March 11.

Dolby Digital sound is now supported via optical output and support for 50Hz output for European gamers will be welcome. Other features in the update include voice commands for adjusting volume up and down. Support for new Xbox One accessories include the Media Remote and Stereo Headset is now included. The web browser on the console is also improved to make for easier searching.
Microsoft has also made it easier to install a sound bar with users no longer needing to type in the model number for most sound bars. Other general improvements have been made with the update including a new passkey feature to protect your user settings.
The last update for the Xbox One was offered in February.

"It will never be competent enough to replace even the most basic HTPC build."
- Did you find that documented somewhere in the future? Sounds like fud you are spewing just so it looks like your argument has some support.

"Even Xbox Live is lackluster. Sony offers first rate titles for free, meaning eventually the service pays for itself. You get ZERO perks with Live. Not even the Netflix app works for free, wtf!"
- A quick search would prove how wrong that statement is. With Xbox live you get two games to keep each month, not a game that can only be played as long as you keep paying into the system (as is the case on the PStat network). The PS4 is more like a dealer giving the first taste for free, then charging if you want to keep the experience going. When you get free game from MS, it's yours to keep playing even if you cancel the gold level of service.

Some of the nontangible perks are the most important, the improved performance, uptime, and security that is provided to the gold accounts is huge for some users, Sony has a horrific record in these areas (but hey, it was free, who cares if it was down for two weeks, cause it'll sure be sweet when I get to use it again). The added incidental bonus of filtering the users on the service is also a great thing, the fewer babbling fucktards in a game the better.

"Talk about a sucker man, they saw you coming a mile away."
- Same thing Sony says every time a new user adds their personal and financial information to their 'secure' network.

FWIW, the practice of constantly spewing fud and fabricating 'facts' to fit one's agenda really shows how little faith one has in their platform of choice being able to compete on a legitimate basis.

"Improved performance?" In what area?

"- A quick search would prove how wrong that statement is. With Xbox live you get two games to keep each month"

What games are these? Do you get to pick them, that would be kinda cool. PSN also gives huge discounts on games, does xbox1 do this? The paywall for netflix ect. on xbox1 really sucks, you have to admit. It's a FU to the customers.

Also, my last HTPC automatically skipped commercials. I mean it skipped the entire commercial break, it wasn't Fast Forward and hope you stop at the right time. Does xbox1 do this? Also, you can archive your shows in high quality without DRM on an HTPC. Does xbox1 do this? (I'm legitimately curious on these questions btw)

for improved performance I could have been clearer, but try streaming Netflix, hulu, or Youtube on each console side-by-side. When hardwired we have never seen the PS3 provide as high-definition of a stream as the 360 does, granted this is a personal test performed at three different households who all happened to have the needed hardware.

I agree, it would be great to be able to choose the games, I don't use this much so can't qualify the quality, the last one I kept was Bioshock, the ones from February were Dead Island and Toy Soldiers: Cold War.

On the paywall, I really do not have a problem with this. I can see Netflix liking it as well. The idea is there is a free network, we cannot guarantee a certain level of service on here, however, we have a set of servers we watch much more closely, almost as if cutomers were paying to help support their costs, and we can promise a certain grade of perf on this one.

The last question I am unsure about as well, not used it as a DVR. I do think it would be awesome if they released the chasis with the ability to add a massive amount of storage just for the purpose of a HTPC (so no Xbox one OS installed on it). Has all the needed hardware, whisper quiet, and matches the One that is directly attached.

My main streaming box is an old PS3. If it had streaming issues, I would know about it by now. I've never seen it fail to hit the highest quality possible personally.

But what does the last generation systems have to do with MS's forced paywall? You don't believe that Netflix will magically work better because you have an Xbox Live account do you? That's

we cannot guarantee a certain level of service on here

Okay you apparently don't know how Netflix works. Sony servers are NOT providing the streams, and neither is Microsoft's Your level of service has nothing to do with their game service infrastructure.

my comment was made as a result of reading that they did cache content, hence why we performed the tests,

Xbox live gold was the topic, I wasn't being version specific to Xbox one vs. 360.
