Slimmer console has improved battery life
Sony has announced a new bundle that will include the new “slim” PlayStation Vita and Borderlands 2. Sony hasn’t given an exact launch date for the new bundle, but did say that it will be available in the U.S. this spring.
The bundle will include the new PCH-2000 series PS Vita, the Borderlands 2 video game, six DLC packs for the game, and an 8GB PS Vita memory card for game storage. The bundle pack will sell for $199.99.
The PS Vita included in the bundle is 20% thinner and 15% lighter than
. The slim PS Vita also comes with 1GB of internal storage and a 5-inch touchscreen.
The slimmer portable device promises 4-6 hours of game play per battery charge compared to 3-5 hours with the original. The new console is also good for up to 7 hours of video playback per charge, up from five hours with the current console.
Borderlands 2 on the PS Vita will use the front touchscreen and the rear touchpad. The six DLC packs included in the bundle are Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Psycho Character Class, Mechromancer Character Class, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1, and the Collector’s Edition Pack.

I have to disagree, portable gaming is at the highest point it's ever been and currently, the 3DS alone outsold the Xbox One AND the PS4. There's a colossal market for portable gaming; however, portable games and consoles are always getting shafted compared to console games. Look at the Assassin's Creed series, AC 1 and 2 came out and were phenomenal games. They released a PSP version that was utter shit to play. Compared that with the Final Fantasy Dissidia games on PSP where the game was polished and is (IMO) the best game to come out onto the PSP.
The Vita's release a disaster because all of the games released at launch were also trash projects because the developers produced some seriously shitty and buggy games. Where are the "pokemon", "megaman battle network", and "monster hunter" games on the Vita? Monster Hunter even made the jump to the DS for crying out loud. Developers and publishers need to take a real look at the community and realize that portable gaming is going to continue growing now that gamers are being accepted by society at large and there's a huge market for portable gaming; however, putting a game on a portable console does not mean it should be shitty, buggy and incomplete.

This. Nintendo gets it. Portable games for a portable system; not console wannabee games. Long Live Nintendo!
