Buffalo's MiniStation Air can also serve as a portable battery and a Wi-Fi hotspot
When it comes to external storage, we’ve seen a few different options and form-factors here at CES. LaCie went all “artsy fartsy” on us with the Sphère external 1TB hard drive, and Mophie just showed off an integrated storage solution for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s.
Buffalo takes things in an entirely different direction with its new MiniStation Air Wireless Portable Hard Drive. The MiniStation Air, which is available in capacities up to 1TB, can support up to 8 devices wirelessly while maintaining impressive battery life at 10 hours.
The MiniStation Air also features a USB 3.0 port so that you can quickly shuttle content from your PC or Mac to the device. The MiniStation Air can also service as a Wi-Fi hotspot, piggybacking the internet connection from, for example, a smartphone to other mobile devices wireless connected to the portable drive.
Further expanding its capabilities, the MiniStation Air can also serve as an external battery pack, allowing you to fully recharge a depleted iPhone 5s battery twice.
Users will be able to monitor and access content on the MiniStation Air using free iOS or Android apps, and the device an also stream content to any DLNA-supported device.
The 1TB MiniStation Air will launch in March with an estimated MSRP of $199.

A common misconception. Medium is the means, not the content.
noun: media; plural noun: media; noun: the media
plural form of medium.
the main means of mass communication (esp. television, radio, newspapers, and the Internet) regarded collectively.

And you proved his point for him.
This device is (apparently) capable of streaming MEDIA to 8 devices.
