I dunno, they supposedly have hte textured backs like the Note3, so that is better.
I am just glad to see decent high end tablets from Samsung. Previous tabs and notes have all had poor specs and low res screens (up until the Note 10 v2014) This new round brings great specs to the whole range. I particularly like the 8.4 inch one with 2560x1600. The absolute highest PPI available on any tablet.

I honestly struggle to find parity between the Nexus\Kindle Fire HD and the iPad.
The Samsung is as expensive as an iPad, but has inferior build quality to the Nexus and Kindle.
Samsung makes ok stuff, but they aren't Apple and can't charge what Apple charges. The price of their phones is getting ridiculous, it's all marketing at this point. At least if you buy an Apple product it will hold some value. Even a 2+ year old iPhone 4s sells for over $200. I'm lucky to get that for my 6 month old Galaxy S4.
