No official details of the TV have been announced

There have been lots of rumors and details of the LG webOS smart TV that will launch at CES 2014 next week. LG purchased webOS from HP last year and said at the time that it would use the failed OS in smart TVs.

Some new details about the webOS smart TV have leaked today with an image of what is claimed to be the interface for the set turning up online.

No official comments on the TV have been offered by LG so far. We do have a few rumored specs though including a 2.2 GHz dual core processor and 1.5GB of RAM for the smart TV. More details should surface next week.

Love the taskswitching UI, but...

I want it back on my phone, not a TV.

To me the dream OS would be a combo

- WebOS's awesome multitasking task switching and swiping to remove UI.
- Androids flexibility and multitude of supported features
- IOS's responsiveness and Apps.

Although I would be happiest if anyone would pick up that UI and use it. It was simply perfection.

That's just a theme, not the UI itself. Watch this... Keep in mind its stock on an old TI OMAP processor. Picture this on modern hardware with better responsiveness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwtjaxweALE

It was really far better on a phone than a tablet even... You can do all that flicking and task switching with one thumb. With just one thumb you could be far more productive than IOS, Android and WP8 combined.

It was a Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 dual core SOC not TI OMAP.

You are correct... But still, a several year old chip on an unoptimized OS. On todays hardware it would scream.

"If you look at the last five years, if you look at what major innovations have occurred in computing technology, every single one of them came from AMD. Not a single innovation came from Intel." -- AMD CEO Hector Ruiz in 2007
