Sony says the PS4 is selling well
Sony says that it has sold 2.1 million PS4 consoles as of December 1. Sony also notes that PS4 owners are taking advantage of the social features of the new console, and that over 6.5 million shares have been captured using the Share button on the PS4 controller.
"PS4 delivered the best launch in PlayStation history with the North American release and we've continued this incredibly successful start in Europe, Australasia and Latin America," said Andrew House, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.
"Demand remains incredibly strong and continues to overwhelm the supply worldwide, but we are diligently working to meet those growing demands and to deliver additional PS4 units to our retail partners throughout the holiday season."
announced the PS4 console in June
. The PS4 launched on November 15 in the U.S. and Canada, but the console has been in limited supply and some of the
early units had an issue
dubbed the "blue light of death."
On November 29, the console was made available in Europe, Australia, and Latin America. As of now, the PS4 is available in 32 countries around the world.

Microsoft is licensing their IPs, not trying to kill block Android in court like Apple... I think it is acceptable.
Back in IE/Netscape and Word/WP days, I was big opponent to MS in general, refusing to use their products whenever I could. But after they were slapped with anti-trust and domesticated, I accepted that they were not same old MS anymore.
Honestly, I think Apple and Google need some slapping as well, in order to make them decent, benign companies again.
I'm not expecting Google to write YouTube app for WP platform if they find it undersized, but I cannot justify them blocking MS to write their app properly. It does not cost them anything, and it brings more customers to YouTube (and Google adds). Insisting that MS must develop app in HTML5 might be their right, but it is also plain and simple bullying. They could just as well decide that 3rd party must do YouTube app in Commodore Basic, with at least 80% of code in PEEK and POKE commands.
In that light, it really saddens me that MS cannot demand that Google Chrome and other Google apps for Windows desktop must be made in some obscure, underperforming code. After all, Android mobile dominance is not that much lower than Windows desktop dominance.
Re maps, if memory serves, Google was refusing to do turn-by-turn navigation for iOS maps, or something like that? And after Apple announced their own maps, Google launched sparkling new maps for iOS and claimed that it is the best Google Maps app on any platform available, including Android. How spineless is that? Don't bully if you cannot stand being bitch-slapped.

Google does what any company does despite their cutesy marketing image: chase the money.
Why do they put the best versions of their apps first to iOS? Money. They make
more revenue from iOS than they do from Android, so they keep putting tons of resources into iOS even if it means their own Android efforts lag behind.
They don't make money from Windows Phone because WP doesn't have any meaningful marketshare, plain and simple. Google says "don't be evil" but altruism has nothing to do with anything, its all about money. If iOS wasn't so big and profitable for them then they'd be treating them just like they do Microsoft.
Its all business and what you can get away with.
