Sony says the PS4 is selling well

Sony says that it has sold 2.1 million PS4 consoles as of December 1. Sony also notes that PS4 owners are taking advantage of the social features of the new console, and that over 6.5 million shares have been captured using the Share button on the PS4 controller.
"PS4 delivered the best launch in PlayStation history with the North American release and we've continued this incredibly successful start in Europe, Australasia and Latin America," said Andrew House, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.

"Demand remains incredibly strong and continues to overwhelm the supply worldwide, but we are diligently working to meet those growing demands and to deliver additional PS4 units to our retail partners throughout the holiday season."
Sony officially announced the PS4 console in June. The PS4 launched on November 15 in the U.S. and Canada, but the console has been in limited supply and some of the early units had an issue dubbed the "blue light of death."
On November 29, the console was made available in Europe, Australia, and Latin America. As of now, the PS4 is available in 32 countries around the world.

Chiming in on the Google vs. Microsoft point. It's not just youtube but all their services you used whenever they can. Their shenanigans with Gmail is what is getting on my nerves, they've practically disabled everything and limit you to the mobile version when on WP. Hop on an andriod phone or device it's all there. So much for a company that does no evil.

How is that evil? If you want the full Google experience, you should have an Android device.

If you want the full Bing experience, there's Windows Phone.

If you want the full...whatever Apple does, there's iOS.

It sounds like Windows Phone users want to have their cake and eat it too. You want to claim it's a great ecosystem, then when the reality of how inadequate it truly is sets in, blame Google for that.

There's no official Instagram app for Windows Phone either. Are they also being evil and anti-competitive? No.

The truth is Windows Phone is an insignificant share of the market, and companies like Google see no point in dedicating resources to it.

The solution here is to just bite the bullet, and not use Windows Phone. Let's face it, it's always going to be last in app development. The updates from Microsoft itself come painfully slow, too slow. And you don't have the Google apps you crave and love, you might never have them.

It sounds like what you want is an open meadow, not the walled garden my friend.

When you're dicking around a certain set of consumers just because they're using a competitors product an no other reason other than just because is morally wrong. Sure it's within their legal means to do so but last time I checked laws aren't absolute and did't determine what is good nor evil.

These are services accessed through a web browser. On a desktop or laptop, it doesn't matter what OS one is using the experience is the same across all three OSX, Windows, and Linux. On a smartphone you are actively blocked and redirected to lesser services depending on OS. This isn't an issue of a company not porting software to a platform. And I'm getting sick of these double standards, if Microsoft was doing the same exact thing here I couldn't even begin to imagine the amount of litigation that would ensue. Nice straw man, btw.

I can't believe you're turning this into a moral Especially coming from a Microsoft advocate!

"If you can find a PS3 anywhere in North America that's been on shelves for more than five minutes, I'll give you 1,200 bucks for it." -- SCEA President Jack Tretton
