But the 5C is bringing in new customers from other operating systems

Apple's iPhone 5S is far ahead of its cheaper sibling -- the 5C -- when it comes to sales in Britain.

According to a new report from The Telegraph, the iPhone 5S is outselling the 5C by a ratio of three-to-one. The 5S is Apple's latest high-end iPhone release that launched in September for an unsubsidized starting price of $650. The 5C starts at $550.

But this doesn't necessarily mean that the 5C was a bust for Apple. In fact, the report noted that the 5C has been acting like an iOS starter kit for those coming from other mobile operating systems like Android and Windows Phone.

The report quoted Dominic Sunnebo, strategic insight director at Kantar Worldpanel ComTech., saying that nearly half of iPhone 5C owners switched from competitor brands (mainly Samsung and LG) while 80 percent of 5S owners upgraded from an older iPhone model.

The report also noted that the 5C is attractive to households with lower incomes (less than $49,000).

Apple is making some headway in the UK, but it still trails behind Android. Android's market share in the UK is 56 percent while Apple's iOS sits in second place with 29 percent. Windows Phone is in third place with 12 percent and BlackBerry is in last place with 3 percent.

what the hell are you talking about?

i can only speak about Liverpool but 4G has been here for a while from EE and 3G speeds are decent on Three (mobile operator)

I get 16-18 Mbit, pay £12 ($18ish a month) and get unlimited data (just broke 100GB this month) and will get a free upgrade to unlimited 4G during the next few months when they finish setting it up.

how is that unusable?
