Pricing and availability for the new phablet remains a mystery

Samsung has gone official with the latest smartphone in its growing lineup called the Galaxy Grand 2. The device is a follow up to the original Galaxy Grand smartphone that debuted about a year ago.
 
The Galaxy Grand 2 has a slightly larger 5.25-inch LCD (1280x720) with a 16:9 aspect ratio and uses a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The smartphone has 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The phone supports microSD cards up to 64GB in capacity.

 
The Galaxy Grand 2 also has a 2600 mAh internal rechargeable battery promising up to 10 hours of video playback and 17 hours of call time per charge. The phone also supports dual SIM cards to switch between networks at will.
 
Samsung equips the smartphone with an 8MP rear camera with auto focus and a 1.9MP front camera for video conferencing. The phone has integrates Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS + Glonass.
 
The phone will come in black, pink, and white, however, pricing and availability has yet to be announced.

Hu, what about the worldwide market genius?
a lot of COM companies do not subsidy the prices of the phones.

Does whether or not the phone is subsidized make a difference in this logic? There's always a trade off between those who are willing to spend more for newer technology and those who want something more sensibly priced. It doesn't matter if the price is $100 vs. $200 or $600 vs $700. My point is that different people want different things.

of course it does.
because if it was just 100 vs 200$, your logic would be spot on.. but its not.. because we are talking on the 100 vs 600 USD levels for high end phones.

Do you really think this phone is going to be $100 unsubsidized? More like 600. Let me know where you're buying your off-contract phones... because I'd like to get one.
