Agreed. I think a significant percentage of passengers are attempting to relax, sleep, pass the time. Especially on long international flights crossing many time zones, people are trying to sleep. Allowing a loudmouth chatterbox to yak away for hours on a cell phone will bring misery to many people.

Flying is already a PITA experience these days, but add noisy phone talkers, and I'd be even more inclined to drive instead of fly, at least for domestic travel where driving is an option.

Can you imagine having to sit next to a Big Crapple resident who decides to show how important he is by making one of his standard phone calls for an entire 4 hour flight???
