X313 has an Intel Ivy Bridge CPU

Acer has pulled the wraps off a new Travelmate X313 convertible. The X313 has an 11.6-inch screen (1366x768) and tips the scales at 1.74 pounds.

Under the hood, the X313 uses a 2GHz Intel Core i5-3339Y Ivy Bridge processor. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and 120GB of storage is onboard. Battery life for the aluminum-clad tablet is listed at a meager 6 hours.

Acer equips the portable device with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 720p resolution front camera for video conferencing. The X313 also features integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a full-size USB 3.0 port.

The convertible can be turned into a notebook computer by adding an optional keyboard case or can be used as a desktop machine with an optional cradle.

Acer seems to be targeting the X313 directly at Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2 and its pricing reflects that. The tablet will start at $950 when it launches later this month.

Deserves to be 6ft under

with these type of products Acer really does deserve to be 6 feet under. Not only will this not deliver similar performance/watt as the newer Haswell based cpus, it will have lower resolution screen and potentially not as great a build quality overall but similar price as Surface Pro 2.

Companies need to fire idiots who come up with such products.

Yet Acer blames MS for their problems.

Yup, Acer is just a laughing stock at this point.

Acer lost my focus at this point.

You'd be better off with the original surface pro all while saving hundreds of dollars and getting superior build quality.

Why is this thing more than 500 bucks?

I bought the Surface Pro 2 this month - skipped the first one as I bought the 15" rMBP and could afford to wait.

Acer X313 is really competing with a 128GB iPad Air at this point, not the SP2, and it's funny (in a sad way). Products like these aren't going to help the company narrow its US$446-million net loss.
