X313 has an Intel Ivy Bridge CPU

Acer has pulled the wraps off a new Travelmate X313 convertible. The X313 has an 11.6-inch screen (1366x768) and tips the scales at 1.74 pounds.

Under the hood, the X313 uses a 2GHz Intel Core i5-3339Y Ivy Bridge processor. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and 120GB of storage is onboard. Battery life for the aluminum-clad tablet is listed at a meager 6 hours.

Acer equips the portable device with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 720p resolution front camera for video conferencing. The X313 also features integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and a full-size USB 3.0 port.

The convertible can be turned into a notebook computer by adding an optional keyboard case or can be used as a desktop machine with an optional cradle.

Acer seems to be targeting the X313 directly at Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2 and its pricing reflects that. The tablet will start at $950 when it launches later this month.

Underwhelming

Given the price ($950) and it's competition (Surface Pro 2) this device is extremely underwhelming given specs like 1366x768 and 4GB of RAM.

This is Acer's biggest issue, they try to build something competitive and price it at the same level as the competition but they've made some stupid compromise somewhere and their product has a fatal flaw as compared to the competition.

This needs to be a lot cheaper to compete with Surface pro. It's just not as good.
