Announcement comes from companies CEO JK Shin

Samsung launched its Galaxy S4 smartphone back in April and the device has proven to be incredibly popular. It took the smartphone about two months to sell 20 million units and four months after launch to hit 30 million units. As the phone has aged and competition increased, it's sales pace has declined.

The Galaxy S4 sold only about 5 million units in August. However, Samsung CEO JK Shin recently stated that over 40 million Galaxy S4 smartphones have been sold globally since the device launched. Considering the phone is been around for about six months, this is an impressive feat for Samsung.

Samsung has continued to roll out some interesting new products following the launch of the Galaxy S4. Most recently, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The Galaxy Note 3 has impressed both reviewers and customers; however, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch has proven to be rather unloved in many reviews.

See, right there tells my you don't know anything at all. On the large list of completely wrong things that you regularly post, that sentence tops it. Completely uneducated and ill though through.

Based on what? The app ecosystem is still the most obvious difference between the two.

Simple staples like Instapaper took years to get a port. There aren't RSS readers anywhere in the same league as Reeder, Reddit browsers like Alien Blue, etc. Games are a foregone conclusion, Blizzard isn't touching Android for Hearthstone, 2K Games still has no plans to port XCom Enemy Unknown to Android, Epic still doesn't make games for Android, Baldur's Gate has been "coming soon" on Android for a full year, there are loads of indie exclusives and board games that aren't getting on Android, and so on.

I know this doesn't matter to you, but every time I see a game announced for iOS all I see are requests for other platforms, but they have to wait.

Even cross-platform apps are generally worse on Android, just look at something simple like Yelp. Google of all companies still releases their major app revisions on iOS before Android.

The app situation is the main reason I'm on iOS and especially the iPad. Sorry that software isn't something you use very much but it is really important to me.

Its like the difference between Windows and Linux.

What blows me away is that I thought the gap was going to close last year. The gap in quality and availability is as wide as its ever been, that honestly surprises me after all this time.

I mean, Android can't even get an SSH or RDP app on the same level as what's on iOS. What good is a fancy custom launcher or skin if what you're running is second rate?

Absolutely clueless and incorrect.

Is that what you found with your few minutes testing on Android? You dont think that you are a BIT more familiar with the app world on the platform you have been with for years and just maybe the the few moments wpnt on Androiod had you draw an early conclusion.

Let me ask you this, what RDP app do you use on IOS? I use 2x and pocketcloud on Android and IOS and find them both exactly the same on both. Is there something better I am missing or are you just full of it as always?

He never quantifies anything or provides objective evidence or links to support his statements. Apps are just globally better on iOS, in ALL cases, because he said so.

I always back up what I say.

What do you do. Make up things, don't back up your claims, go off of old information, or make outrageously incorrect statements like "LCDs don't get image retention".

Give me a break

What you did below was not backing anything up, it was showing us how totally wrong you are. LOL. Just stop, its getting painful.

Jump Desktop on the iPad. I have Pocketcloud too, Jump is better.

I use Prompt for SSH.

You didn't answer any of my statements on games, I reckon its because the Android ports actually don't exist.

Say it: "Games don't matter". I know you want to. :)

Ummm, ya I wish we had that....

I repeat, you're familiarity with your platform and you're unfamiliarity with the other shows its face again... Totally clueless. And games? Same thing, you are clueless. You spend so much time with your head buried in IOS you have no idea what is going on outside that world. It works for you, great, noone is expecting you to change but REALLY, stop making idiotic comments about the other side, you just look uninformed as you did here again tonight. Your arguments are years old and invalid.

That is what you come back with? Completely lame dude. The point is not that Android has the app that you thought it didn't have, the point is that you have no idea what you're talking about with the Android app situation. As I have told you a dozen times, your arguments are a year to 2 years old and don't hold water today.

You use iOS and have been on it for a long time. You are very familiar with its app world, but you don't know anything about what's going on Android. Your comments show it. Like I said above there's no reason for you to change what you use and what works well for you but stop making stupid uneducated and ignorant comments about something you have no idea about. It just makes you look rediculous.

And your ridiculous list of games? There are darn near a million apps and games on both sides. There are thousands and thousands of apps that are available on each but not the other... Congratulations for finding a few. Oh my god you're just reaching anymore to try and save face. Too bad you put your foot in your mouth and lost it so to speak. it's good to see proof though, the argument was getting old and now we know where you're coming from.

And games? Same thing, you are clueless. You spend so much time with your head buried in IOS you have no idea what is going on outside that world.

You're not the only one who can make silly lists. Here's what I do know:

Blizzard: Not releasing Hearthstone for Android
2K Games: Not releasing games like XCom Enemy Unknown for Android
Epic: Not porting Infinity Blade series to Android
iD: Still no ports for Android
EA: Most of their games don't have Android ports
Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition: Been "TBA" to Android for a year when it was "coming soon". Can be bought for iOS, Windows, and OS X.
Playdek: The best maker of board and card game ports for mobile devices:

Android users clamor for ports from Playdek, none of which are anywhere to be seen after all these years. One of the top threads in the r/digitaltabletop subreddit is "what games do you want to see on Android?", something that only exists because of the lack of them.

This is like arguing with a Linux user over the difference in game libraries between it and Windows. Sure there are games, you'll have Angry Birds and such, but a lot of the high quality stuff just isn't there.

I'm not being malicious when I say this, I truly mean it when I say that I'm surprised that more AAA games are still iOS exclusive.

The port of this finally did come out though!

It is one of my favorite games from the last two years. Played the hell out of it on PC and the iOS port is even better. If it works on your Android device you should check it out, its awesome.

Oh WTH, the last link from the Play store can't be copied and work properly.

Search for "Frozen Synapse", that game is amazing
