Announcement comes from companies CEO JK Shin

Samsung launched its Galaxy S4 smartphone back in April and the device has proven to be incredibly popular. It took the smartphone about two months to sell 20 million units and four months after launch to hit 30 million units. As the phone has aged and competition increased, it's sales pace has declined.

The Galaxy S4 sold only about 5 million units in August. However, Samsung CEO JK Shin recently stated that over 40 million Galaxy S4 smartphones have been sold globally since the device launched. Considering the phone is been around for about six months, this is an impressive feat for Samsung.

Samsung has continued to roll out some interesting new products following the launch of the Galaxy S4. Most recently, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The Galaxy Note 3 has impressed both reviewers and customers; however, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch has proven to be rather unloved in many reviews.

Top Android device sells 40 million units, at $600+ each, while Microsoft struggles to move their old stale inventory of bargain-basement $99 Wintard Phones. Lol.

It's funny, the predictions of Linux beating Microsoft and taking over the world did come true. But it's happened via mobile devices instead of desktop peecee's.

What does this post have to do with Microsoft? What is with your post-and-run, blind hatred towards this company?

Because lately on Daily Tech all you hear about is how great Windows Phone is and how Samsung and Android are just "cheap plasticy phones" and bla bla bla.

Not even in Nokia's wet dream can it move 40 million halo phones running Windows Phone OS.

That's not it at all. That's simply your opinion.

The simple fact is that Microsoft recently released the Surface 2 and 2 Pro, and then shortly after the Nokia Lumia 1320, 1520 and 2520 were announced, keeping them in the news. They're new device announcements, of course they're going to be reported. Whether the reporter favours Windows phone is a completely different matter, but regardless, they will still be reported, as they have been on every other tech site.

Every single article in which this person posts forms some form of extreme hatred towards Microsoft, even if the article is not in the least bit related.

Perhaps it's actually due to those who actually own Windows Phones realising that it is a really great OS and a real competitor to Android sans the app library.

All WP8 really lacks is the app library. The OS is really nice (in some ways the best mobile UI IMHO) and Nokia's hardware feels great.
