Announcement comes from companies CEO JK Shin

Samsung launched its Galaxy S4 smartphone back in April and the device has proven to be incredibly popular. It took the smartphone about two months to sell 20 million units and four months after launch to hit 30 million units. As the phone has aged and competition increased, it's sales pace has declined.

The Galaxy S4 sold only about 5 million units in August. However, Samsung CEO JK Shin recently stated that over 40 million Galaxy S4 smartphones have been sold globally since the device launched. Considering the phone is been around for about six months, this is an impressive feat for Samsung.

Samsung has continued to roll out some interesting new products following the launch of the Galaxy S4. Most recently, Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The Galaxy Note 3 has impressed both reviewers and customers; however, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch has proven to be rather unloved in many reviews.

About to return mine

Had mine since July and nothing but problems;

Lock screen PIN stopped accepting my PIN out of the blue, had to factory reset and lost everything. Meanwhile I was still getting texts and emails, just couldn't access the phone to see who.
Nearly impossible to sync email, I have to toggle airplane mode on/off for the phone to actually download/upload anything.
Last weekend, it stopped recognizing my 32GB PNY SD card. The phone didn't even know the card was being put in and removed. Put the same card in my PC and everything is right there, reads it fine and I saved all my pics.
Bought a new 32GB and the phone couldn't format it.

Right now I'm rocking a 16GB card and seems to be stable, but one more crash and this POS is going in the trash.

I've had mine since May and haven't had any problems at all. My 64GB microSD card is still working fine. By the way if you're not backing up everything on your phone in some way or another you're basically OK with losing it all. I just back up my entire microSD card via SyncMe to a NAS share at home so I could care less if I lost my phone or it got wiped.
The PIN thing sounds like it's not the fault of the phone. I have never in my life heard of such a thing. Is it connected to a corporate email system? Sounds more like they reset it or something. My work email, Gmail, and Yahoo mail all sync without any problems.

It's my personal phone with the same PIN I have always used. I had just unlocked it, texted someone, relocked it. 5 minutes later I got a text reply so I went to unlock it again. "Password incorrect". Oh, I fatfingered it. "Password incorrect". 10 more times incorrect. Reboot, battery out. Typed in 100 more times. Password Incorrect.

It was the phone. I only lost internal memory which was contacts and pics, but I had most of those backed up.
