Both Android and Windows 8.1 tablets are available
Dell announced a new line of tablets and laptop computers aimed at families and business users alike today including a convertible Ultrabook. The new machines include the Dell Venue tablet line, the XPS 11 two-in-one, and the XPS 15 laptop.
The Venue line of tablets has four ultrathin models including the Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro. The Venue 8 runs Windows 8.1 and uses HD resolution IPS display. The Venue 11 Pro also runs Windows 8.1 and features a detachable keyboard turning the tablet into an ultrabook. The machine also has a full HD resolution display and an active stylus allowing users to draw or take notes directly on the screen.
Venue 11 Pro
Dell also unveiled the Venue 7 and Venue 8 Android tablets. Both tablets use the Intel Atom Z2760 processor with the main difference being screen size. The Pro versions of the tablets run quad-core Bay Trail processors while the 11 Pro can be fitted with fourth-generation Intel Core i3 or i5 processors.
The XPS 11 weighs in at 2.5 pounds and is 11-15 mm thick making it the thinnest and lightest 2-in-1 ultrabook in the world according to Dell. The machine was designed with a tablet first process with laptop functionality. It transitions from a laptop to a tablet using a 360° rotating hinge. The XPS 11 also has a backlit touch keyboard and a display with 2560 x 1440 resolution measuring 11.6-inches.
The XPS 15 weighs 4.44 pounds and features a 15.6-inch screen with Quad HD+ resolution. It can be fitted with up to 1 TB of storage space or a 512 GB SSD. Processor options include fourth generation Core i5 and i7 parts. The Dell XPS 13 features a 13.3-inch screen and is also fitted with various for generation Intel Core processors. Despite having a larger 13.3-inch display, Dell says that this is the footprint similar to an 11-inch laptop.
The Venue 7, 8, 8 Pro, and XPS 15 will be available on October 18 in the US and other locations around the world. Pricing for those devices is $149.99, $179.99, $299.99, and $1499.99 respectively. I am not much of a Dell fan in general...

...but they hit this one out of the park!
As an aside I was really glad to see Michael succeed in taking the company private again. The likes of HP and IBM will continue to be rudderless while Dell has a real chance of righting the ship.

In what way is IBM rudderless? Aside from the CPUs in video game consoles, I can't think of a single consumer product that IBM produces, so you'll need to qualify your claim. It's market is research (patents) and big business, and it's doing quite well there. It's consulting services are a joke, but that's par for the course in the consulting industry. You can't knock AIX and POWER, and its storage products are rock solid.

I agree. Most people don't understand IBM if they aren't from a big business or working for a hardware/software OEM which interacts with them. IBM doesn't interface with consumers much anymore, (hint - that's on purpose, the consumer industry is terrible) so the perception is they are waining.
