32GB Surface RT with touch cover is $249
Microsoft is offering customers who trade in a second generation or newer iPads a
$200 credit towards the purchase of a new Surface tablet
. However, we just stumbled across an even tastier deal if you're into supporting a rather stagnant ecosystem.
Manufacturer Certified on eBay is selling refurbished Surface RTs at a steep discount. The seller is currently offering the 32GB Surface RT with a black Touch Cover for
$249.99 with free shipping
. Stepping up to the 64GB model with a black Touch Cover will
set you back $279.99
Both tablets are backed by a one-year Microsoft warranty.
Manufacturer Certified offered a similar deal as a
part of the eBay Daily Deals promotion two weeks ago
, and they quickly sold out.
While the price is quite tempting, do remember that the
second generation of Surface tablets is due out later this month
, although it's doubtful that they will be priced this low.

Windows RT, museum piece

Everyone knows that Windows RT (Windows on Arm) is soon to enter Technology's dustbin. It is a platform that no longer makes sense with power efficiency of Intel's latest chips.
The real travesty here is that due to the Windows Stores that now populate 20% of the floorspace of your local BestBuy, you now have an entire section of a major electronic retailer devoted to flogging the useless crap known as Windows/Surface RT.
Microsoft is tricking thousands of unsuspecting consumers into buying these models in Best Buy and I guarantee to you, Microsoft knows that this is nothing more than a last gasp attempt at flogging their Surface RT inventory.
Someone in the tech press should have the balls to stand up and call this bait and switch for what it is.

My BestBuy has 20% of its space devoted to Apple and Samsung. The tiny Surface display they have is hardly noticable yet still usualy has someone at.
Also, you obviously have no idea what "bait and swtich" means

Who gives a sh*t that the term is loosely applied.
The fact remains that Microsoft will not be supporting the Windows RT (Windows on Arm) devices in a few years time.
They are desperate to recoup the investment that they have on these turkeys and the preeminent US electronics brick and mortar brand (Best Buy) is aiding Microsoft in flogging the crap devices.
Anyone who buys a Surface RT device is a sucker and Microsoft is stealing their money.
