Microsoft really wants you to switch from the iPad to Surface
Microsoft has decided to aggressively target iPad users in an attempt to get them to convert to its own Surface RT or Surface Pro tablets. The Redmond, Washington-based software giant says that users who bring in a "gently used" iPad 2, iPad 3, or iPad 4 will get at least a $200 gift card to the Microsoft store.
Microsoft doesn't specifically say that gift card has to be used for a Surface RT or
tablet. However, right after offering the $200 gift card for the iPad Microsoft does take the opportunity to mention that the Surface RT is available starting at $349 while the Surface Pro is available starting at $799.
The special offer is valid from September 5 until October 27, 2013 and is valid at select Microsoft retail stores in the U.S. and Canada. The offer is not available online so if you don't have a Microsoft Store nearby you're out of luck.
To be eligible for the trade-in the iPad must include the power cord and the device can't be password-protected.

I think I've heard there will be an announcement for the next generation Surfaces (RT at least, not sure about "Pro") on 23 Sept, and the deal goes until late Oct. So enough time to find out if its worth waiting, at least.
If I didn't already have an S Pro (128G) I'd be tempted; I'm pretty sure my brother has an old iBad 2 he hasn't used in forever. But as I do already bought the Proj, I can say I like it a lot, with the one serious downside to my mind being battery life. Do wish it lasted a little longer. A 2nd gen using Haswell should take care of that quite nicely.

That's if the Surface / Surface Pro 2 is released next month, and not 6 months or more later like last time.
I'm itching to get my hands on a Surface Pro 2.
