, Apple TV will get a software update on September 18. Not much is known about the changes that will occur, but one thing for sure is that its AirPlay system will have new capabilities.
AirPlay originally only let users purchase content from Apple's iTunes store and play it on a TV from there. But with the new update, users can have the content they bought play on other people's Apple TV boxes directly from the cloud.
In other words, a user can play the content they own on an Apple TV box that they don't own using the cloud (AirPlay).

Get your facts straight. It helps if you are familiar with the technology and have used it. Airplay is the best reason to buy an Apple TV IMO and has been around for ages. I own several Apple TV's and airplay enabled receivers, hifi and wireless speakers and their primary use is to:
1. Mirror any content from iPad's iPhones and Macs (video, XBMC, VLC, demo VM's, Facetime chats etc.) for video enabled Airplay devices.
2. To stream audio from iDevices, iTunes Match and other sources using airplay enabled hifi and Apple TV as receivers to make easy multi room audio throughout the house which works reliably and fast.
3. At work, there are Apple TV's in every meeting room so anyone in the room can mirror their iPad screens to the projector/screens to present Keynote presentations.
I fail to see what this rumoured minor update actually adds unless it is literally just being able to login as another account, which I thought you could already do anyway.
