Leaked Bandit screen shot  (Source: evleaks)
Leaked image shows extra columns of tiles on the home screen

A leaked image has turned up on Twitter (courtesy of evleaks) that claims to be a screenshot from the big-screen Nokia “Bandit” smartphone. The screenshot shows a reworked on screen for Windows Phone specifically designed for larger screen devices – in this case, 1080p. The Nokia Bandit is supposed to have a six-inch screen and the expanded Start Screen shows two extra columns for titles.

Previously leaked details suggest that Nokia's new phone could be called the Lumia 1520 when it's officially launched.

Current Windows Phone devices only have enough space for four columns of the smallest tiles. The Starts screen on the 1520 shows six total columns of small files. Other rumored specifications for the Nokia smartphone include a QUALCOMM 800 Snapdragon processor, full HD resolution display, and a 20-megapixel rear camera.
The phone is expected to launch a Nokia press conference to be held in New York on September 26.

This has been a big week for Microsoft and Nokia with Microsoft announcing that it is purchasing Nokia's hardware division and other assets for over $7 billion.

The 4% market share doesn't include influence from the 520/521 iirc which just launched recently (it's not included in the latest report rather).

Meanwhile, the Lumia 521 and (I'm pretty sure) the lumia 520 on AT&T gophone remain and have been listed as "top sellers"

I'm not saying we'll have 20% market share by december, but the Lumia 521 is certainly drawing in customers more attractively than a low end android, at least IMO.

I hope it does grow... More players is better for competition. I just dont think it will. Not with WP8 and current Nokia hardware. Maybe if WP9 and future hardware has something better than IOS or Android at the time its released.

It's the best selling no contract phone on Amazon. I'd say that is selling well.

%'s of total phones sales would say otherwise.

Being the highest of one particular small segment (no contract) on one vendor (amazon) that isnt even a carrier isnt really much of anything. At the end of last quarter WP8 in total - all devices from all makers was at 4% worldwide marketshare. That needs to grow to get better dev support and market sway.

the 521 from walmart with the prepaid plan saves a fortune over an android/verizon plan.

The 520/521 are selling so well that Nokia has no desperate need for cash, isn't COMPELLED to sell itself for a song (less than the value of Skype). Oh wait...

Look, it's fine to like an OS or a company for aesthetic reasons, or history or whatever. But don't waste our time making supposedly FACTUAL claims that are clearly BS. If Nokia had great numbers to report on the 520/521 line (or any other line) they'd be telling the world about it, and using that information to get a bank loan.
