Leaked Bandit screen shot  (Source: evleaks)
Leaked image shows extra columns of tiles on the home screen

A leaked image has turned up on Twitter (courtesy of evleaks) that claims to be a screenshot from the big-screen Nokia “Bandit” smartphone. The screenshot shows a reworked on screen for Windows Phone specifically designed for larger screen devices – in this case, 1080p. The Nokia Bandit is supposed to have a six-inch screen and the expanded Start Screen shows two extra columns for titles.

Previously leaked details suggest that Nokia's new phone could be called the Lumia 1520 when it's officially launched.

Current Windows Phone devices only have enough space for four columns of the smallest tiles. The Starts screen on the 1520 shows six total columns of small files. Other rumored specifications for the Nokia smartphone include a QUALCOMM 800 Snapdragon processor, full HD resolution display, and a 20-megapixel rear camera.
The phone is expected to launch a Nokia press conference to be held in New York on September 26.

This has been a big week for Microsoft and Nokia with Microsoft announcing that it is purchasing Nokia's hardware division and other assets for over $7 billion.

When cell phones start coming with 90 day no questions asked return policies then maybe people will be willing to "just try it", until then its a pretty thin argument. But we will all be driving flying pigs to work before that happens.

Out of all the people I know that have smartphones only one has a Windows Phone, and it's an older model at that.

Maybe a renter phone? Try it for 30 days, at the end of the month take it back and it gets wiped. If you want one you buy a new or refurbished unit.

They already do. Well close to it anyway on VZW and ATT. Not sure about T-Mob or Sprint, but Sprint is worthless in this neck of the woods. You have 14 days to decide. If you don't like it, you can return it before the 14 days is up and swap it out for another phone. It does cost like $15-$30 I think, but that's not so bad.
