New smartphones and a new Bluetooth enabled sub will for debut

HTC has rolled out a pair of new smartphones today, which include the Desire 601 and the Desire 300.

HTC says that the new Desire 601 has many of the features that made the HTC One a favorite among smartphone enthusiasts. The phone features a five-megapixel rear camera with features like Sequence Shot, Always Smile, and Object Removal.

The phone has a 4.5-inch qHD resolution screen. Under the hood of the 601 is a QUALCOMM Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor operating at 1.4 GHz. The 4G LTE connectivity allows users to connect to the fastest mobile Internet in the land where available.

The Desire 300 is HTC's new entry-level device featuring a 4.3-inch full lamination display. The smartphone runs a QUALCOMM Snapdragon dual-core 1 GHz processor. The entry-level phone also has HTC BlinkFeed and more.

HTC has also announced the HTC BoomBass, which is a small Bluetooth enabled subwoofer with its own amplifier designed to provide more base when combined with a BoomSound enabled device.

“We are committed to offering the most innovative portfolio of products on the market. Our Desire family has become synonymous with affordable quality,” commented Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. "Offering some of the most advanced capabilities of any smartphone, these phones truly represent premium quality in a more affordable price bracket.”

The Desire 601 and 300 will be available in select markets starting in October.
Earlier this week HTC announced the arrest of a pair of high-level executives for allegedly stealing intellectual property and trying to start their own companies using it.

These models are below the One, so why are you so upset? You still carry the flagship.

He exhibits the kind of idiocy you see from iPhone users. He would somehow feel better about his HTC One if they did like Apple and never made another handset for 15+ months. Of course HTC would fully collapse if they did that, and he wouldn't be getting ANY updates.

So HTC announces some mid-ranged new phones, and he suddenly feels like his phone is less than what it was yesterday. See the kind of people who make up Apple's customer base?

"Paying an extra $500 for a computer in this environment -- same piece of hardware -- paying $500 more to get a logo on it? I think that's a more challenging proposition for the average person than it used to be." -- Steve Ballmer
