LG Unveils New G2 Smartphone with Quad-core, 2.26GHz Processor

LG shows off new high-end smartphone
LG Electronics has unveiled a new flagship smartphone called the G2. The design of the G2 places all of the buttons on the rear of the device -- the Rear Key concept springs from LG designers recognizing that the larger phones became, the more difficult it was to access side keys. LG moved the main buttons to the back of the phone and located them where the user's index finger naturally rests.
The LG G2 features a 5.2-inch full HD resolution display. The phone also features a very thin bezel on the side that's only 2.65 mm thick. The phone comes equipped with a blazing Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor operating at 2.26 GHz. Feeding that hungry beast is a 3000 mAh internal battery promising more than a full days use per charge.
The G2 also has a 13-megapixel camera on the rear featuring optical image stabilization technology. The G2 is also the first smartphone on the market to utilize 24 bit/192kHz Hi-Fi playback of also to of audio content offering sound superior to CD-quality.
The G2 can be had in 16GB or 32GB storage capacities, and runs the Android 4.2.2 operating system. Unfortunately, the G2 doesn’t include a microSD slot, so you’re out of luck if you want to expand storage beyond what’s available from the factory.
The LG G2 will roll out over the next eight weeks over 130 wireless carriers in South Korea, North America, Europe, and other world markets.

Fact 1 Backup:
This one is the hardest to confirm, but it's due to the vast majority of smartphone sales being made up of feature phones.
Worldwide smartphone sales totalled 210 million units in the
of 2013. Samsung was boasting in
that their best selling phone (the S4) had sold 20 million units in 2 months. Even extrapolating evenly (which we shouldn't as this was their launch month) that would be 30m per quarter. This phone is by far the best selling phone on Android, period - outselling every other flagship large screen phone combined. This would give the large screened devices a maximum of 1/4 of the sales in Q2.
Fact 2 - the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 are the two best selling phones, I don't think this even requires proof - it's common knowledge. If you do need me to evidence this, say so - but at that point I would question whether you even follow the industry.
Fact 3 - It's also common knowledge that you cannot get the maximum performance available on Android in a smaller screen device. The flagship performance 'king' is always the large screen model. Again, this is pretty common knowledge. You can argue that there are
reasonably high spec Android phones available in smaller sizes but that is a) debatable and b) Wouldn't challenge my claim of 'fastest possible performance'.

I don't think that anyone really needs to know if a majority of people prefer big or small screens. Who cares? The real question is: is there a market for small AND big screens (and everything in-between)? Obviously, yes. Do you think that any manufacturer is going to say: 60% of people prefer big (or small screens), so I am not going to produce small (or big) screen smartphones? Of course not, that would be completely dumb, like a carmaker saying "a majority of people prefer silver cars, so we will produce only silver cars". Even Apple understand (finally!) that one product fits all approach cuts them from a huge potential market. They released a smaller iPad (after saying that smaller tablets are useless) and will more than probably release an iPhone with a larger screen (and I don't mention the possible cheaper iPhone, something that goes completely against Apple's high-end image). But Apple is not completely stupid, they know that sometimes you have to swallow your pride and recognize that leaving huge portions of the market to other smartphones manufacturers that offer more options is just suicidal. My wife is looking into buying a new phone and the first thing she said is "I want a bigger screen". She is not representative of the all market of course, but she shows that bigger screens appeal to some consumers, the same way small screens appeal to others. The only thing I can say is that her screen size requirement is the reason why she looked at the iPhone for only half a second (and perhaps that her current phone runs Android, but she does not exclude a Windows phone, so it is secondary).

I agree with all of what you put.
I was only arguing with an assertion that large screens are the majority.
I didn't make any claims about whether or not any company should ignore any markets or not.
